Registered Nurse - ICU
About The Position
Work across SICU, NCCU, MICU, Cardiology, and CVICU at Ohio State’s academic medical center. Nurses float based on competency, patient acuity, and organizational staffing needs. This opportunity is intended for experienced ICU nurses who are adaptable, clinically strong, and comfortable with changing assignments. The role offers exposure to multiple critical care specialties and patient populations, with 24/7 support from a Critical Care Float Pool Resource Nurse and an experienced team of more than 100 staff members. Typical ratios are ICU 1:1–1:2, PCU 1:3, and acute care 1:4. In rare, extreme staffing situations, PCU or acute care assignments may require nurses to flex up by one additional patient. The work environment emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, learning, and professional growth.
Requirements
- Experience as an ICU nurse.
- Adaptability and strong clinical skills.
- Comfort with changing assignments.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients across SICU, NCCU, MICU, Cardiology, and CVICU, as assigned.
- Float to assignments based on competency, patient acuity, and organizational staffing needs.
- Care for complex, high-acuity patients and adapt to changing assignments.
- In rare, extreme staffing situations, flex up by one additional patient in PCU or acute care assignments.
