About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides outpatient behavioral health nursing support focused on addiction treatment in La Crosse. The role combines direct patient care with phone triage and in-basket messaging, and includes learning opportunities in mental health and addiction services, including methadone and suboxone treatment. The nurse works with a supportive, experienced team and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to support quality patient outcomes. This position is scheduled for 0.8 FTE (64 hours per two weeks). Regular hours are Monday through Friday, either 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Weekend rotation is approximately one weekend every three months, with short morning shifts that include methadone dosing. On-call coverage is one weekend per month during dosing hours, typically by phone consultation from 9:00–10:00 a.m. Holiday rotation is approximately one holiday every two years. Hospital-based compensation starts at $34.65 per hour, commensurate with experience, with a weekend differential.

Requirements

Minimum Associate degree in Nursing.
Active RN license to practice in Wisconsin.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certification.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Provide nursing support for patients seeking addiction treatment.
Manage in-basket tasks and phone triage.
Administer injections and conduct intakes.
Dispense suboxone and methadone in conjunction with the Opioid Treatment Program.
Assist with intake coverage for the Unity House Residential Treatment Program as needed.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support quality patient outcomes.
