About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Urology Clinic in Nashville, Tennessee. VUMC is a community dedicated to advancing health and wellness through patient care, education, and research. This role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The nurse will effectively communicate patient information to the healthcare team, collaborate on patient goals, and evaluate progress. Professional growth is encouraged through continuous learning. This position operates Monday through Friday from 0800 to 1630, with no nights, weekends, or holidays required. The role emphasizes collaboration in care planning, coordinating and implementing care delivery, and anticipating patient needs. It involves analyzing patient information to determine nursing diagnoses and utilizing the nursing process to evaluate patient progress and apply interventions. Strategies to promote health and a safe environment are also employed. Additional duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
