About The Position

This is a Registered Nurse (RN) – Flexible, Per-Assessment Role at HomeWell Care Services in the Wilmington/Carolina Beach area. It is described as a boutique, owner-led agency with a personal approach to care. The role is ideal for a retired or semi-retired nurse who wants to stay connected in a meaningful way without the stress, long shifts, or heavy caseload of traditional nursing. The nurse will work directly with the owner, completing in-home assessments, developing care plans, reviewing caregiver notes, identifying changes in client condition, and ensuring home safety.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
• Someone who is calm, thoughtful, and communicates with ease
• Valid driver’s license
• CPR/First Aid certification
• CNA or HHA license preferred or 6 months of full-time work or 12 months of part-time work caring for geriatric or chronically ill persons
• Exceptional communication skills
• Reliable transportation; if transporting clients, must also have proof of a valid driver's license and auto insurance
• Proof of current TB testing
• Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position
• Mature, caring, punctual, and reliable
• Pass a criminal background check (national and required by the state)

Nice To Haves

• Experience in home care is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Completing in-home assessments based on client needs
• Partnering with the owner to develop personalized, thoughtful care plans
• Reviewing caregiver notes and documentation to ensure quality and consistency
• Identifying any changes in condition and providing guidance as needed
• Helping ensure each client’s home environment is safe and appropriate for care
