About The Position
Armor Health is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse to provide patient care at Lackawanna County Jail in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., consisting of three 12-hour shifts, with rotating weekends and holidays. The role provides holistic nursing care in a correctional setting and involves patient assessment, care planning, treatment implementation, medication administration, and assisting with medical procedures.
Requirements
- Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Current CPR certificate.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records.
- Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance, including a background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
- Assess patients’ physical, psychological, and social dimensions; obtain health histories and write admission assessments.
- Document and communicate triage decisions to the appropriate health care provider during custody and upon discharge.
- Develop individual nursing care plans using nursing assessment protocols in consultation with health care providers.
- Implement medical care plans, including diagnostic tests and EKGs, according to physician orders.
- Administer medications using proper techniques, procedures, and approved routes; follow nutrition and therapeutic diet plans.
- Assist physicians with medical or minor surgical procedures as necessary.
