About The Position
Glens Falls Hospital is seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our team! The C.R. Wood Cancer Treatment Center in Malta provides advanced diagnostic, treatment, and cancer management care, as a service of the C.R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital. Our highly skilled, compassionate oncology and hematology team focuses on preventing and treating cancers and blood disorders, such as carcinoma, sarcoma, melanoma, lymphoma, and leukemia. The team also works closely with our surgeons, radiation oncologists, and other cancer specialists to coordinate all aspects of patient care.
Requirements
- Graduation from a Registered Professional Nursing Program.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Maintains competency in professional nursing practices
- Knowledge of standard health care reporting measures required
- Ability to recognize patient care problems and to react appropriately in patient care emergencies
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred; new hires will be required to complete their BSN within 5 years of hire (RNs with 20+ years of experience may be eligible to opt for certification completion rather than BSN).
Responsibilities
- Management and delivery of patient care to assigned patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and within the scope of practice delineated in the New York State Nurse Practice Act.
- Provides direct patient care, delegates/assigns responsibility as appropriate to others, and serves as leader of the interdisciplinary team in collaboration with and under the direction of the attending physician.
- Identifies desired outcomes for each patient based on assessment data, and plan of care and completes ongoing assessments to facilitate achievement of desired outcomes.
