More about our team Acute care medical‑surgical unit 24‑bed unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio 1:10 CA-to-nurse ratio Diverse patient population including medical, surgical, testing, and observation patients Common comorbidities: diabetes, hypertension, stroke, renal, and psychiatric conditions Strong team culture, improved nurse communication, and commitment to Sovah Health core values
Requirements
- Current VA or compact state license.
- Associate’s degree in nursing required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in clinical area preferred
Responsibilities
- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
- Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
