About The Position

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. This part-time, benefit-eligible position is 24 hours per week, working every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with one weekend off per quarter. The role receives premium pay for WOW shifts. The RN is responsible and accountable for providing direct, comprehensive nursing care and functions as an on-shift team member caring for patients while meeting the needs of patients, families, and coworkers. The Emergency Department has 41 beds divided between two pods, including 37 private rooms. A split-flow area near main triage serves lower-acuity patients and typically handles 5–8 patients with 1–2 nurses and a mid-level provider. The fast-paced department treats an average of more than 160 patients per day, including acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, and psychiatric patients. It is recognized by the American Heart Association as a STEMI receiving center and designated Primary Stroke Center. New graduate RNs are welcome.

Requirements

Current Indiana or compact-state RN license, or graduation from an approved nursing program.
BLS for healthcare providers required.
ACLS certification required within 12 months of hire.
PALS certification required within 12 months of hire.
NIHSS certification required within 10 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide direct, comprehensive nursing care to patients.
Function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and coworkers.
