About The Position

The Southern Utah Veterans Home is seeking a dedicated and compassionate PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality nursing care to our veteran residents. The RN will work on an as-needed basis to support the nursing team in delivering exceptional healthcare services in a long-term care environment.

Requirements

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Utah.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience preferred, preferably in long-term care or geriatric settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and document accordingly.
• Monitor residents’ health status and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare team members.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive resident care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in resident medical records.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.
• Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding health conditions and care plans.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
