About The Position

This position is a 20% appointment, on call as needed (1-2 days a month). Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) delivers discovery science and transformative technology to power and secure the nation’s future. Brookhaven Lab is a multidisciplinary laboratory with seven Nobel Prize-winning discoveries, 37 R&D 100 Awards, and more than 70 years of pioneering research. Requirements

• Active New York State RN license
• Minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience
• Certification in Basic Life Support
• Available for on call shifts, generally 1-2 days per month, on short notice
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Uncleared Personal Identity Verification (UPIV) credential

Responsibilities

• Hands on care providing first aid
• Administering immunizations
• Administering medications and spirometry
• Assistance with conducting physical examinations
• Initial treatment of patients and management of occupational or athletic injuries
• Assistance with employee absence management, back to work clearance, and travel medicine
• Understanding of workplace safety, health risk reduction, and screening
