About The Position

This position is a 20% appointment, on call as needed (1-2 days a month). Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) delivers discovery science and transformative technology to power and secure the nation’s future. Brookhaven Lab is a multidisciplinary laboratory with seven Nobel Prize-winning discoveries, 37 R&D 100 Awards, and more than 70 years of pioneering research. The Lab is primarily supported by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science. Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA) operates and manages the Laboratory for DOE. Requirements

  • Active New York State RN license
  • Minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience
  • Certification in Basic Life Support
  • Available for on call shifts, generally 1-2 days per month, on short notice
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Uncleared Personal Identity Verification (UPIV) credential

Responsibilities

  • Hands on care providing first aid
  • Administering immunizations
  • Administering medications and spirometry
  • Assistance with conducting physical examinations
  • Initial treatment of patients and management of occupational or athletic injuries
  • Assistance with employee absence management, back to work clearance, and travel medicine
  • Understanding of workplace safety, health risk reduction, and screening
