About The Position

This is a part-time Registered Nurse position in a clinic setting. The role involves direct patient care, including taking vital signs, assisting with medical procedures, assessing patient conditions, and providing patient education. Responsibilities also include wound care, assisting patients, and maintaining accurate patient records within an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. The nurse will handle new patient paperwork, manage prescriptions, and take patient pictures for before & after treatments. For pre-operative patients, duties include obtaining consent forms, providing instructions, collecting vital signs and lab work, and reviewing/prescribing medications under physician guidance. Collaboration with medical staff, communication with patients and families, ordering and managing supplies, maintaining a clean work environment, drawing lab work, transmitting prescriptions, and assisting with injectables are also key aspects of the role. The position requires travel to Metairie, West Bank, and Slidell locations.

Requirements

Associates or Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing.

Responsibilities

Taking and recording vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration) and relaying information to MD.
Assisting with medical procedures, examinations, and other procedures.
Assessing patient condition, observing for changes, and reporting concerns to the physician.
Providing patient education on treatments, self-care, and infection precautions.
Performing patient wound care.
Assisting patients in and out of the clinic as needed.
Maintaining accurate patient records, including medical histories, treatments, progress notes, and prescriptions.
Entering data into electronic health records (EHRs) with accuracy and confidentiality.
Handling new patient paperwork and managing clearances.
Taking patient pictures for before & after treatments.
Managing pre-op patients, including consent forms, instructions, vital signs, lab work, and medication review/prescription.
Collaborating with medical staff, physicians, other nurses, and support staff.
Communicating with patients and their families, explaining procedures, answering questions, and providing emotional support.
Ordering and managing clinic supplies (garments, medications, etc.).
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
Drawing lab work in the office.
Transmitting prescriptions as per MD guidance.
Assisting Nurse Practitioner with injectables (e.g., Botox, fillers), including pre-treatment pictures and topical numbing.
Keeping clinic rooms fully stocked.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Traveling to Metairie, West Bank, and Slidell locations.
