A Registered Nurse provides nursing care and services in accordance with the patient’s plan of care as directed by their primary care provider. The Registered Nurse supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Home Health Aides per Medicare, Medicaid regulations, as well as state regulations. In Florida, the Registered Nurse functions as the case manager for patients receiving nursing services or nursing in combination with therapy services. The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordination of care, implementation of the plan of care, and maintenance of the clinical record for assigned patients. The Registered Nurse provides clinical supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Home Health Aides (HHAs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) involved in the patient’s care, consistent with Florida law and agency policy.
