About The Position

Devereux New Jersey is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their Nursing team. This role offers the opportunity to utilize your nursing degree in the behavioral health field, making a positive difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. The Registered Nurse reports directly to the Director of Nursing and will provide nursing support in a hybrid capacity, covering programs in Gloucester, Camden, Cumberland, and Atlantic County. Requirements

  • Must be licensed to practice as an RN in the state of New Jersey.
  • One year of nursing experience preferred, but New Grads will also be considered.
  • Previous professional experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
  • Be flexible, patient, energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor.
  • Have a strong passion for working with and helping adults with special needs.
  • Comfortable traveling to different group homes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing annual Nursing Assessments for each residential individual.
  • Conduct quarterly choking assessments for each individual in day only and residential programs identified as high risk.
  • Review all dietary changes for day only and residential programs.
  • Conduct specialized training for new hire orientations, boot camp classes and on-going as needed.
  • Review medications charts, labs and medication counts to ensure accuracy within the group home.
  • Assisting group homes with primary care physician or other doctors as needed.
  • Review charts to ensure all required documentation has been received.
