About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse on the Psych Unit at Putnam Hospital Center. A minimum commitment of 6 shifts per 42-day schedule is required. The nurse complies with established department/hospital policies, rules, and regulations. They demonstrate the knowledge and judgment needed to utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate each patient’s nursing care. The nurse provides considerate, respectful care focused on each patient’s individual needs and demonstrates accountability and responsibility for their own work performance. They acquire, maintain, and demonstrate current knowledge and competency in nursing practice, a commitment to service excellence and quality improvement, and a leadership role through clinical practice, supervision, and teaching. The nurse demonstrates competent clinical and decision-making skills and the ability to assess, treat, and care for the unique needs of geriatric patients.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • BLS required.

Responsibilities
