About The Position

Raleigh General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). This is a PRN, night-shift, in-person position. The nurse provides patient-centered care by assessing patients, identifying their needs, initiating appropriate interventions, documenting care, and developing and revising interdisciplinary care plans. New graduates are encouraged to apply and will be supported through a one-year residency program.

Requirements

• Current state RN license.
• Associate degree or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply and will be supported through a one-year residency program.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and thorough patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
• Provide nursing care appropriate to each patient’s age and condition.
• Complete timely and accurate medical-record documentation supporting medical necessity.
• Develop, implement, and revise interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.
