About The Position

By fusing a bio-psycho-social-spiritual treatment model with medically managed therapies, our intensive outpatient programs provide rapid access, rapid resolution, and rapid return to work and healthy lifestyle programs for anxiety, depression, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma, and chronic pain. We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our multi-disciplinary clinical team on a casual basis.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
  • BLS and or willingness to obtain is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience in mental health assessment/triage and treatment is required.
  • Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB) registration and membership in good standing are required.
  • Professional liability insurance is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is required.
  • Offers are conditional, subject to a clear police background check inclusive of vulnerable sectors.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS training is an asset.
  • Experience in addictions assessment and treatment, mental health group facilitation, ART, and/or care plan development is an asset.
  • Experience mental health group facilitation an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive client-centered care, trauma therapy, and addictions support for individuals struggling with complex mental health conditions.
  • Perform effective assessment of client status.
  • Prepare and facilitate ketamine treatment.
  • Monitor and support clients during psychopharmacological treatment.
  • Support clients in crisis or dysregulation, such as managing panic attacks, or providing de-escalation.
  • Facilitate psychoeducation groups (Based on ACT, Psychoeducation, DBT Skills, Mindfulness, Family Support, and Addictions Support).
  • Assist in grounding and reflection post psychopharmacological treatment.
  • Complete client intakes and case management support.
  • Support clients receiving substance abuse treatment with biological monitoring, relapse prevention planning, psychoeducation, motivational interviewing.
  • Participate in weekly case consultations and complex case discussions with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Work collaboratively with other therapists by sharing a client caseload.
  • Communicate with other clinicians on a regular basis about issues related to client care.
  • Attend all clinical meetings, including but not limited to WorkSafe and other programs.
  • Engage in professional consults and supervision.
  • Ensure same-day completion of session notes.
  • Complete assessment and discharge reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide reporting to third-parties and community referral sources.
  • Respond to enquiries and provide program information to clients.
  • Ensure adequate stock of medications, medical supplies, and other general stocking duties.
  • Maintain and upkeep medical equipment, including the corresponding documentation.
  • Other responsibilities related to the role and scope of work may be assigned.
