About The Position

The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections - SCI Smithfield is actively seeking devoted and passionate Registered Nurses. Requirements

Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania
If possessing an active temporary practice permit, must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within one (1) year
Must be able to perform essential job functions
Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements

Responsibilities

Assess inmate health needs and provide treatments, medication, and daily living assistance
Assist physicians during examinations and clinics, and administer tests, immunizations, and screenings
Provide first aid, CPR, AED use, and other urgent care actions during medical emergencies
Document care, maintain medical records, and prepare reports to ensure accurate health information
Share shift reports, communicate essential information, and support continuity of care across staff
Follow required procedures to maintain safety, sanitation, and quality improvement standards
