About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty. Sentara Princess Anne Hospital is a 174-bed acute care hospital that provides quality clinical outcomes, experienced physicians, advanced technology, and a patient-centered approach to care in southern Virginia Beach, as well as neighboring Chesapeake and Northeastern North Carolina communities. As a recognized accredited Primary Stroke Center, and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, the hospital specializes in orthopedic and spine care, heart, vascular, advanced imaging, gynecological, comprehensive breast care services, and family maternity with a state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit. Requirements

  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State RN License in good standing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
