Endeavor Health is seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) for Operating Room (OR) positions across multiple locations. This is an evergreen opportunity, meaning your application will be considered for current and future RN openings within the system. Requirements

  • Successful completion of an associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Active Illinois State Nursing License Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - through AHA

  • Previous OR experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develops a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes and evaluates patient’s progress, revising as needed.
  • Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving the patient, family, and other healthcare providers.
  • Communicates the plan of care to the patient and family, respecting their wishes and involving them in goal setting. Communicates patient data to physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Documents patient health data, interventions, and communications.
  • Individualizes patient and family teaching based on thorough assessment, considering cultural background, learning style, and barriers.
  • Provides teaching on disease management, emergency care, and drug information, and identifies community resources for patient self-management.
  • Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers, students, and other healthcare providers, sharing knowledge and contributing to a supportive clinical education environment.
  • Assigns or delegates tasks as needed.
  • Nurtures a compassionate environment by providing psychological support.
  • Provides assistance to technical staff with procedures such as injection of contrast, venipuncture, administration of drugs, O2 therapy, and IV management.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities and nursing research, staying updated on trends in wound/ostomy/skin care.
  • Supports staff in using research and providing evidence-based care.
  • Conducts daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients if skilled, monitoring treatment effectiveness.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assists in the transporting of acutely ill patients as needed.
