About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) works on 3 North Surgical, a 36-bed medical-surgical unit caring for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses. The unit provides compassionate, patient-centered care throughout recovery, including post-operative management, medical stabilization, and ongoing treatment of acute and chronic conditions. Its focus is coordinated care that supports safe healing, patient education, and optimal outcomes.

The RN provides compassionate, evidence-based nursing care through assessment, treatment, care coordination, patient and family education, and individualized care planning, while supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges. The role centers on the patient as a whole person and contributes to a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. The RN spends more than 50% of their time coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care on the unit.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Basic life support certification; applicants who do not already have it have 30 days from their hire date to complete it.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, and successful completion of a dysrhythmia class as required by the department of assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing rounds, patient assessments, and treatments.
• Facilitate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Provide patient- and family-centered education.
• Coordinate care and develop individualized treatment plans as applicable.
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care.
