About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Stepdown Registered Nurse to join a high-acuity cardiovascular unit within a major acute care hospital. The RN will provide care to patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing interventions, with potential to float to similar units caring for the same patient population.
Requirements
- Minimum 18 months of recent Stepdown experience (travel experience accepted)
- Minimum 18 months of prior permanent experience in specialty required
- Active state RN license or compact license required at time of submission
- BLS (AHA or equivalent)
- ACLS (AHA or equivalent)
- NIHSS
- Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to stepdown/progressive care patients
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and patient status
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Float to like units as needed based on patient care demands
