About The Position

Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU). This is a Variable Full-Time position working three 12-hour night shifts (7pm - 7am). The CPCU is a 43-bed unit serving the adult population with Level II Cardiac Services, including patients with Acute Heart Failure, Acute or Uncontrolled Arrhythmias, Chest Pain, and those who have undergone Cardiac Catheterization and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention. The hospital is recognized as a "Best Regional Hospital" by U.S. News & World Report and a "Best Place to Work in Healthcare" by Modern Healthcare. It is a full-service medical/surgical facility with 285 beds, offering advanced technology in areas like cardiovascular care, orthopedic care, surgical services, and emergency medicine. A new Team Member Wellness Center opened in 2025, featuring a fitness facility, tranquility space, and wellness activities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license (must have passed NCLEX).
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • 1+ year RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient’s needs and develops/revises an individualized plan of care based on patient needs and responses.
  • Evaluates the patient’s progress toward attaining expected outcomes.
  • Respects diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers.
  • Functions as a patient and family advocate.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned.
  • Serves as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician.
  • Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit/department.
  • Serves as a role model for staff and supports the hospital and nursing department’s goals and strategies.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assesses the data reflective of the patient’s status, and interprets the necessary information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.
  • Coordinates the care and delegates as appropriate to other team members on a defined group of patients.
