A Registered Nurse (RN), for Inpatient Care Unit is responsible for the care of both medical and surgical patients to include those being monitored on telemetry. The RN will be knowledgeable in assessing medical and surgical patients and will be able to recognize complications and provide the appropriate care and implement necessary interventions. The RN will have well-rounded analytical knowledge, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices in medical-surgical nursing. The RN will have outstanding interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities. The RN for this position will “make a difference” in customer and employee experience and is committed to patient satisfaction and quality care. The RN will value the importance of being a positive team member, team player and provide input for problem solving issues. Registered Nurse Responsibility/duties will include but not limited to: Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs. Adjust specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpret and record measurements. Monitor patients’ vitals and report adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner. Monitor and interpret rhythm strips and recognize significant changes in cardiac conditions. Communicate effectively with all members of the care team using SBAR format. Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team. Answer questions and educate patients and their families on maintenance of their health and recovery. Maintain and update patient Electronic Medical Records. Adhere to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols. Protects patient privacy. Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) regulations.
