Registered Nurse - Pediatric Short Stay - Per diem Days
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides individualized, safe, and excellent patient care in accordance with current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care. The role involves communicating with patients and members of the healthcare team, administering medications using bar-scanning and documentation technology, and maintaining ongoing point-of-care electronic documentation of assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations. The nurse also provides education to patients and families and collaborates on discharge planning to support safe transitions and continuity of care. This is a per-diem day-shift position in Pediatric Short Stay.
Requirements
- Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- APHON certification, or obtain it within 3 months of hire.
- 1–2 years of pediatric chemotherapy, procedural sedation, or IV infusion experience.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
- Strong accountability for improving the lives of patients and caregivers.
- Exceptional focus on teamwork.
- Dedication to ongoing education.
- Ability and passion to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care.
Nice To Haves
- National certification strongly preferred.
- BSN strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care according to current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care.
- Communicate with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members about patient status, care rendered, and treatment plans.
- Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
- Document patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations through point-of-care electronic documentation.
- Provide patient- and family-centered education to support health, wellness, and disease management.
- Participate in multidisciplinary discharge planning to support safe transitions and continuity of care.
