About The Position

ChristianaCare Wilmington Hospital is looking to hire an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to work in our newly renovated Medical Observation Unit. 3 Medical Observation Unit (3MOU) is an 8-bed unit dedicated to the care of adult medical patients admitted under observation status. Common diagnoses include, but are not limited to, ruling out stroke, syncope, and chest pain—conditions that require further evaluation and testing beyond the Emergency Department. As an observation-only unit, 3MOU offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment characterized by high patient turnover. The average length of stay typically falls between 12-32 hours. Patients who require inpatient care will be transitioned from 3MOU to the appropriate inpatient unit. Team members on 3MO will also have the opportunity to cross-train on 3 West, Wilmington Hospital’s 9-bed cardiac care unit. 3 West focuses on the care of short-stay patients with primary cardiac diagnoses, offering staff a diverse and enriching clinical experience. Requirements

DE RN license or Compact RN license.
Two years of RN experience.
BLS required.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred or the commitment to obtaining a BSN within 3 years date of hire.
Acute care or sub-acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Care of adult medical patients admitted under observation status.
Evaluation and testing for conditions such as stroke, syncope, and chest pain.
Managing high patient turnover in a fast-paced environment.
Transitioning patients requiring inpatient care to appropriate units.
Cross-training opportunities on 3 West, a cardiac care unit.
