Requirements

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary circulator for high-acuity emergency surgeries, including exploratory laparotomies, craniotomies, and vascular repairs; manage the rapid mobilization of specialized equipment, blood products, and "trauma-ready" instrumentation.
• Lead the surgical "Time Out" and maintain vigilant oversight of the sterile field, ensuring strict adherence to AORN standards for patient positioning, skin integrity, and complex sponge/instrument counts during high-velocity, multisystem procedures.
• Partner seamlessly with trauma surgeons, anesthesiologists, and scrub technologists to stabilize critically injured patients; expertly manage intraoperative life-support technologies, including cell-savers, rapid infusers, and advanced physiological monitoring.
• Execute meticulous real-time documentation of surgical events, implant usage, and medication administration within the Electronic Health Record (EHR); ensure all regulatory standards for a Level 2 trauma facility and Joint Commission readiness are consistently met.
