About The Position

Chicago Behavioral Hospital is seeking motivated, dependable, and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide exceptional direct care and support to patients. The Registered Nurse assesses, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. RNs actively engage in the health care team, offering direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians. They continuously assess patients' physical and psychological conditions throughout their care journey, utilizing the nursing process in alignment with the hospital's philosophy, objectives, values, mission, and core principles. RNs uphold a safe therapeutic environment grounded in core values and collaborate as an integral member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, actively contributing to the development, implementation, and documentation of tailored goals and interventions based on patient strengths and psychiatric challenges.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required.
  • Currently licensed to practice by the Illinois State Board of Nursing.
  • CPR certification and management of aggressive behavior training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure.
  • Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric facility preferred.
