Delaware Hospice is actively seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to work homecare in Sussex County. New GRADS are welcome to apply! Hospice/homecare experience not required. Our nurses are an integral part of Delaware Hospice's mission and interdisciplinary team. The RN Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide coordination of interdisciplinary Hospice services to patients and families. Utilizes the nursing process to provide quality nursing care to Hospice patients in accordance with Delaware Hospice policy. Supports the primary care giver in the performance of physical care for the patient. Active participant in coverage of all shifts as needed. Must be able to bend, squat, drive for extended periods of time, lift and turn patients; lift 30 to 60 lbs, following industry standards and guidelines for safety and correct ergonomic practices. Employees involved in patient care may be exposed to blood, body tissue and fluids regularly and are expected to follow all health care industry safety guidelines indicated in our procedures manual. This is an exempt position. Delaware Hospice nurses may care for pediatric patients. We offer specialized training and orientation for nurses who wish to be part of the Katybug team. Our Katybug program specializes in helping kids from perinatal to young adult, find relief from pain and symptoms in their own home, while offering families the practical resources and emotional support they need to cope. You will be part of an entire team of highly qualified, caring individuals assists with the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of you and your loved ones. The dedicated Delaware Hospice team includes: Medical Director: Consults with the primary physician, oversees the care plan, and, if necessary, may serve as the attending physician. Registered Nurse: Acts as the primary point of contact, conducts weekly medical assessments, manages the patient's care plan, lets the family/caregiver know what to expect, and answers all questions. Certified Nursing Assistant: Provides personal care to the patient and keeps the family/caregiver informed and advised. Social Worker: Provides emotional care and supports the needs of the whole family. Chaplain: Offers spiritual direction and prayer. Adult and Child Bereavement Counselor: Provides grief support. Volunteers: Offer companionship and encouragement. Delaware Hospice cares for our staff with the same commitment we have to our patients.
