About The Position

Devereux Arizona’s Residential Treatment Center (RTC) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct daily medical management for their adolescent population (ages 7-17). The RN will provide, review, and follow-up with medical providers regarding medication effectiveness and potential side effects. This role involves supervision of safety issues/crisis intervention, infection control protocols, and general medical management. The RN will maintain communication with all departments involved in client care and provide education/training to direct care personnel for the Medication Technician Certification Program. This is a non-traditional hospital setting focused on patient care within a 24-hour, 10-acre campus in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Requirements

  • Current valid RN license to practice in Arizona with no restrictions required.
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Six (6) months nursing experience required.
  • Must attend mandatory two (2) weeks of paid New Hire Orientation: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm, followed by on the job training.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards).
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check.
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable).
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results.
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (OR eligibility to obtain with no restrictions).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous behavioral health experience with children/adolescents or pediatric nursing preferred.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct daily medical management for the adolescent population.
  • Provide, review, and follow-up with medical providers regarding medication effectiveness and potential side effects.
  • Provide supervision regarding safety issues/crisis intervention for the campus population.
  • Oversee infection control protocols.
  • Manage general medical needs.
  • Maintain effective communication with all departments involved with direct client care.
  • Provide education/training of direct care personnel involved with the Medication Technician Certification Program at the Group Home Level.
