About The Position

Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Performs other related duties as assigned. The role is associated with the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Possess a current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
• Have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification on hire from ARC or AHA; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• AHA NRP must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the NICU role.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Two years of acute care experience.
• Previous clinical nursing experience in med/surg, telemetry, or ICU.
