About The Position

A “Registered Nurse” is a person who holds a valid Indiana license, and who bears primary responsibility and accountability for nursing practices based on specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, and behavioral sciences. The role requires maintaining competence in BLS after initial training, demonstrating a calm, pleasant, and professional demeanor, and the ability to work cooperatively with all staff, physicians, and departments. A commitment to Patient Satisfaction and Patient Safety is essential. The position requires interpersonal skills to instruct and comfort patients and their families, and maintain communication with a variety of internal and external staff. It involves recognizing and reinforcing positive efforts of the healthcare team and co-workers, addressing issues tactfully and in a timely manner, and meeting established quality and quantity standards for the role. The nurse will appropriately use therapeutic touch to calm and comfort, demonstrate a cheerful demeanor, and be willing to work hard and assist others. Sensitivity to the needs and workload of the entire unit/department is expected, along with a willingness to take ownership and avoid blaming others. Compassion, empathy, and support for the team are key. Safety must always be prioritized when making decisions. The role also involves promoting and supporting Reid’s services and regional market strategies to achieve “Lean” deployment strategies, connecting on a human level with patients, families, visitors, and staff, and showing courteous interactions.
