About The Position

McKenney Home Care is seeking Florida-licensed Registered Nurses for PRN private-duty nursing opportunities in clients’ homes through its Bonita Springs office. Nurses provide individualized care to one client at a time and work independently in a private-home setting. Available assignments depend on client needs, nurse availability, location, clinical experience, and case requirements; PRN hours are not guaranteed. Opportunities may include skilled nursing visits, day or evening visits, overnight assignments, weekend work, and recurring cases when available. The agency is family-owned and serves Lee and Collier County.

Requirements

• Active Florida RN license in good standing; an active Florida RN license is required for consideration.
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a private home setting.
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Hands-on CPR certification.
• TB test, PPD, or lab screening within the required timeframe, or a qualifying chest X-ray.
• Level 2 AHCA background screening.
• Dependable attendance and professional conduct.
• At least 8 months of home care, private duty, hospice, hospital, or related nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

• 12 months or more of home care, private duty, hospice, hospital, or related nursing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor clients’ conditions in the home setting.
• Identify and promptly communicate changes in condition or significant clinical findings.
• Provide skilled nursing treatments and administer medications as ordered.
• Support clients with chronic conditions, post-hospital needs, and ongoing nursing needs.
• Coordinate and communicate with physicians, families, and other care-team members as appropriate.
• Provide clients and families with education related to health, care, and safety.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in the WellSky app.
• Follow the established plan of care, agency policies, and client-specific nursing requirements.
