About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a valued member of the interdisciplinary team within the department and organization. They are responsible for the coordination and delivery of quality patient care by assessing and identifying patient needs, implementing and monitoring the patients’ medical plan, and following HPHA policies and procedures. Additionally, the Registered Nurse must follow nursing processes within the profession’s and licensures scope of practice. They will provide education, advice and support to patients and family members.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma from a recognized and accredited College/University required
  • Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a mixed inpatient caseload including acute care, complex continuing care, cardiac monitoring, and palliative
  • Demonstrated ability to work on an interdisciplinary team, including community partners
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing continuing education
  • Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years recent nursing experience preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course preferred
