The Registered Nurse (RN) reporting to the Director of Care is responsible to provide direct resident care and medication administration and document care in compliance with regulatory and Resident Health and Wellness standards and policies and procedures. Provides those components of nursing care to residents whose care needs require the competencies of the RN/RPN (i.e., residents with complex, unpredictable, unstable, changing care needs). Carries out assigned restricted activities authorized for the RN/RPN under the Health Professionals Act that have been supported by the policies and procedures of AgeCare. Carries our complex care interventions in situations where ongoing assessment and alterations in care approach are necessary to respond to unpredictable, changing needs of the resident or where interventions are not expected to be part of the regular duties provided by other members of the nursing team. Communicates with families in situations where urgent and/or emergent situations requiring interventions may be required. Provides care to stable residents to further assess individual residents and/or to coach other nursing staff in the provision of quality care.
