About The Position

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team. The staff RN is a professional care giver who follows the framework of primary nursing and assumes responsibility and accountability for the care and teaching of a group of patients/families for a designated time frame. The staff RN directs and provides care to these patients utilizing therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of RN experience required.
  • Recent inpatient pediatric ICU experience within the last year is required.
  • Per diem RNs (PDRNs) must have a minimum of one year of RN clinical experience.
  • BSN
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Current healthcare provider CPR certification
  • ACLS for Adult Critical Care RNs.
  • PALS for ASC, M/L PACU, MZ PACU, ED, PICU, Peds Transport and Peds Critical Care Floats.
  • NRP for 15PS, ICN, Peds Critical Care Floats and Peds Transport.
  • APHON or ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Status for Parnassus 6PCRC, 7L, 11L, 14L, 14M, 9/13 ICU, 12 CCRC, LSU, Adult Transfusion Services, Pediatric Acute Care Resource Team, Pediatric Treatment Center; Mount Zion 4W. 5N. 6W, Ida Friend Infusion Center.

  • Recent in-patient peds ICU experience preferred.
