About The Position

Cataract & Laser Institute is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to support daily operating room activities and coordinate patient care. The role works closely with physicians and surgical staff to prepare for procedures, maintain a safe surgical environment, and support an efficient workflow.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse license.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to prioritize patient care and manage competing needs in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Positive, professional approach and commitment to patient safety and teamwork.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Two years of operating room nursing experience with IV skills.

Responsibilities

Plan and provide individualized nursing care using sound clinical judgment.
Prepare equipment, instruments, medications, and supplies based on patient needs and physician preferences.
Anticipate surgeon needs and support operating room procedures.
Maintain sterile technique and perform surgical counts according to facility policy.
Monitor equipment, troubleshoot issues, and report malfunctions.
Complete accurate, timely patient care documentation.
Communicate with physicians and team members to coordinate care.
Monitor supply levels and expiration dates and assist with sterile processing and supply readiness.
Support quality improvement, accreditation readiness, and compliance with facility policies.
Assist with the orientation and training of new employees.
