About The Position

River Oaks Hospital, a private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents, and children located in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, is seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse WOW (Weekend Option) to work every weekend. The facility has a tradition of excellence since 1970 in treating acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma-based disorders, compulsive behaviors, and eating disorders. Services are available at all levels of care on a 14-acre campus. The WOW Registered Nurse is a professional nurse responsible for delivering, coordinating, and evaluating patient care through collaboration with health team members, following the nursing process and standards of care. This role requires the ability to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-related criteria for patients served. This is a non-exempt hourly position. New graduates are welcome and an excellent mentoring program is available.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
Current licensure with the Louisiana State Board of Nurses.
Ability to clearly speak, write, and understand verbal and written English.
Selected skills/credentials as defined by the department’s scope of services.
Ability to work with others in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a psychiatric hospital or related inpatient setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver, coordinate, and evaluate patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members.
Provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Work every weekend, 7p-7a or 7a-7p.
