About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) Wound Care for Central Texas Rehabilitation Hospital. This PRN position focuses on providing specialized wound care services. The role involves patient assessment, direct care, educating clinical staff and families, and ensuring effective treatment outcomes to support rehabilitation goals. Requirements

Graduation from an accredited Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
Graduate of an accredited Wound Ostomy Care Nurse program.
Current state licensure as Registered Nurse.
CPR/BCLS certification.
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in wound care.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

ACLS preferred.
WOCN Preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform patient assessments to identify wound care needs and appropriate interventions.
Evaluate patient progress and wound healing outcomes, adjusting care plans as needed.
Initiate and implement nursing interventions tailored to the patient’s condition.
Provide direct wound care based on patient condition and age-specific needs.
Educate patients and families on wound care procedures, prevention strategies, and discharge instructions.
Provide clinical staff education related to wound care treatment plans, procedures, and best practices.
Requires strong assessment, planning, and communication skills.
Must be able to collaborate across disciplines to ensure continuity of care.
Perform other duties as assigned.
