The Inpatient Wound Care Coordinator works collaboratively with the Charge Nurse and/or Nursing Director. This role communicates and collaborates closely with physicians, inpatient nurse managers, and other members of the healthcare team to provide consistent quality care for patients with wounds. The coordinator supports all inpatient activities to advance the Pressure Ulcer Prevention (P.U.P.) and Wound Care Program. Working with a high degree of autonomy, the Wound Care Coordinator accepts responsibility and accountability for assigned patients to implement and evaluate care for adult and geriatric clients. The RN works within the framework of the Florida State Nurse Practice Act and follows all hospital policies and procedures. They will demonstrate competence in key areas by performing functions including, but not limited to, the common examples listed, while complying with hospital and nursing philosophy and standards.
