About The Position

Wound Care Nurse Location: Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring Schedule: Day (flexible with schedule) Position Purpose Are you passionate about improving patient outcomes through expert wound, skin, and ostomy care? At Holy Cross Health, we are looking for a skilled Wound Care Nurse who brings both clinical expertise and compassionate care to our interdisciplinary team. You’ll play a key role in assessing, planning, and delivering care that promotes healing and supports our mission of service to the community.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred). Note, if the BSN or MSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain a within a specific time frame.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• CWCN, WCC or WOCN (Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing) Certification required.
• At least one year of experience as a Wound Care Nurse.
• Current RN license in good standing with the Maryland Board of Nursing
• BLS certification
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and assist with patient handling and movement
• If not active in direct patient care within the past 5 years, must have completed a nursing refresher course
• Proficiency in English: reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive wound, skin, and ostomy assessments across all age groups
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on clinical findings
• Provide education to patients, families, and staff regarding wound prevention and management
• Collaborate with physicians, providers, and healthcare team members to coordinate optimal patient care
• Support the mission of Holy Cross Health and Trinity Health, delivering care with compassion and excellence
• Deliver care with sensitivity to the unique physical and psychosocial needs of patients, from neonates to geriatric populations
