This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) working 80% FTE on a day shift, scheduled between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, with no weekends or holidays. The main office is at University Hospital, requiring travel to various locations. The role functions primarily in outpatient settings/clinics, caring for the ostomy patient population. It requires specific ostomy knowledge, and certification in wound and ostomy is highly preferred. The RN will work together to meet patient and family needs, promote healing, and improve quality of life. They will serve as a key resource for patients, staff, and providers for wound, ostomy, continence, and skin care, focusing on urological and fecal ostomy patients. Responsibilities include establishing goals and strategies for care coordination across settings and assisting a team of specialists in treating chronic and hard-to-heal wounds. Conditions treated may include complex wounds, non-healing surgical wounds, pressure injuries and ulcers, traumatic wounds, and wounds related to leg swelling or slow blood flow. Advanced wound treatments such as advanced tissue products, compression wraps, laser scar treatment, specialized dressings, surgical debridement, and vacuum-assisted wound closure will be utilized. The RN will work on a team serving patients across multiple hospital and/or ambulatory services.
