About The Position
Big Bend Regional Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) for their Women's Services Labor & Delivery Unit. This position works the night shift (6:30pm - 6:30am) and includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus with an 18-month commitment. The role involves evaluating patients, planning and implementing nursing care, assisting physicians, administering medications, and educating patients and families on their conditions and self-care. The nurse will rely on experience and judgment to achieve goals and is expected to demonstrate creativity and latitude in performing tasks. The position typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
Requirements
- Labor & Delivery experience required
- Requires an associate's degree
- Certified as a registered nurse
- Must have a license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field

- Prefer bachelor's degree in nursing
Responsibilities
- Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care
- Assists physicians during examinations and procedures
- Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
- Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills
- Performs a variety of tasks
