The labor and delivery suites at Centerpoint Health Women & Babies - Georgetown are thoughtfully designed to provide a calm, comfortable and secure environment for our patients birthing experience. Each private suite blends modern medical technology with a warm, home-like atmosphere to help you feel relaxed and supported.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
  • BCLS required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, and Handle with Care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
