About The Position

This full-time day shift position is located in our Vascular Access Center, which operates within a Medical Office Suite and provides diagnostic procedures in an outpatient setting. The nursing team works collaboratively with medical imaging staff to perform scheduled procedures Monday through Friday. Nurses in this role provide comprehensive interdisciplinary care, including moderate sedation, procedural assistance, and patient education, from patient arrival to departure. The position emphasizes a strong team culture, professional development, and work-life balance with predictable scheduling options.

Requirements

  • Current licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of New York.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Maintains education/certifications as required by department and regulatory agencies.
  • Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
  • Completes all mandatory training.

Nice To Haves

  • Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred, according to NYS requirements.
  • National certification preferred, along with 1-2 years acute cardiology or ICU experience.

Responsibilities

  • Admission assessment and pre op preparation.
  • Utilize clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills & the principles of case management & adult education to coordinate, implement & support the plan of care.
  • Ensure a seamless, effective, efficient transition of care across the continuum.
  • IV insertion and maintenance.
  • Monitor and assist with procedures, monitor and deliver moderate sedation, IV medications and contrast dye injections.
  • Point of care testing as directed.
  • Specimen preparation and reporting according to hospital policy.
  • Collaborative team approach, coordinate and direct care with vascular providers and medical imaging staff.
  • Educate patient and family regarding preparation, intra procedure and post procedure care.
  • Monitor quality metrics specific to the department & ensure complete & accurate documentation in the patient record.
  • Act as mentor, educator, consultant/collaborator, and navigator for students and new colleagues.
  • Ensures quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.
