About The Position

The Registered Nurse renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients. This role provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). The Vascular Access RN demonstrates increased knowledge and has an expanded base of clinical expertise appropriate to the patient population and special procedures served. Methodist Southwest Medical Center is a 314-bed, full-service, acute care teaching hospital serving southwestern Dallas County. The hospital offers a newly renovated intensive care unit, labor and delivery unit, and interventional radiology suite; a Level III Trauma Center, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and the Dr. Stephen and Marilyn Mansfield Oncology Unit. They have been recognized for excellence in various medical fields and strive to have a diverse workforce.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Certification in PICC or Mid-line catheters
• Current CPR certification required.
• Current license to practice professional nursing in Texas or eligibility to do so required.
• 5 or more years RN experience.
• At least 2 years IV management preferred
