About The Position

DHMC’s Vascular Access Team is seeking an RN who thrives on variety, advanced technology, and an active role throughout the hospital. This highly specialized team supports a diverse patient population, from newborns to centenarians, providing assessment, insertion, maintenance, and troubleshooting of short peripheral IVs and midline catheters, along with phlebotomy services. Select team members perform PICC insertions, and all team members are responsible for PICC care and maintenance. The role involves working with cutting-edge technology, including ultrasound-guided IV placement, building advanced clinical expertise in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a PT (2x12hr shifts) rotating position with shifts rotating 7a-7p and 7p-7a across all 7 days.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Licensed RN with NH eligibility
  • BLS

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care.
  • Utilizes critical thinking and the nursing process to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, taking action to modify the plan of care or to elevate to the care team as necessary.
