About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor serves as a front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit. Embraces, uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision making structures and processes. Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering "Service Always" and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility. Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
  • BSN or Associate Degree RN within 1 year of completing BSN
  • Chemotherapy/biotherapy card required within 3 months of hire
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association required
  • RN licensed, and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Completion of Charge Nurse workshop within 90 days of employment
  • Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others.
  • Proficient computer skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous oncology experience with chemotherapy administration strongly preferred
  • Previous charge/leadership experience preferred
