The Registered Nurse Unit Manager, RN is responsible for performing professional supervision, guidance, and direction to staff in both clinical and personnel issues on the Long-Term Care Unit. This role involves developing and maintaining nursing practice and standards consistent with the facility's philosophy, coordinating resident care in accordance with State DOH regulations, and representing the Nursing Department to other departments. The position also involves supporting residents and families, ensuring staff adherence to safety and infection control guidelines, and assisting in the daily operations of resident care, including showers/baths, toileting, meals, medication administration, and activities. Communication with the Interdisciplinary Team is crucial to ensure resident and family needs are met. The role includes performing daily rounds, assessments (Admission, Elopement, Pain, etc.), developing and documenting care plans, preparing resident assignments for CNAs, and monitoring the delivery of patient care. The Unit Manager also assists other staff, orients new personnel, and performs other related duties as required.
