About The Position

Momentum at South Bay is searching for a skilled Registered Nurse Unit Manager to become part of the facility's compassionate and caring team! This role involves ensuring appropriate transcription of physician orders, monitoring resident conditions, managing admissions, assisting with wound care, conducting regular unit rounds, reviewing nurse's notes, performing chart audits, and completing necessary reports. The Unit Manager also reports problem areas to the Director of Nursing and assists in developing corrective actions, while also providing direct nursing care as needed.

  • Experience in reviewing nurse's notes and chart audits
  • Experience in completing reports
  • Ability to provide direct nursing care

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the appropriate transcription of physician orders as per policy and provide follow through as appropriate.
  • Ensure that physicians are alerted to changes in resident condition, lab work, etc., and obtain orders as indicated.
  • Inform nursing personnel of new admissions, ensure that rooms are ready, greet new admissions and escort to rooms.
  • Assist licensed nursing staff with the admission process.
  • Review all admissions assessments for completion and accuracy.
  • Make rounds with physicians as necessary and ensures proper record keeping.
  • With Wound Doctor assist with wounds rounds weekly by visually inspecting each wound, obtaining accurate measurements and documenting on facility wound tracking log.
  • Recommends treatment changes when appropriate and ensures all skin care interventions are carried out as care planned.
  • Perform comprehensive unit rounds at least three times a day to identify concerns and assure correction.
  • Review nurse's notes to ensure documentation is maintained relating to resident’s treatment, medications, and conditions.
  • Conduct weekly chart audits to ensure compliance with professional standards and quality of care.
  • Complete necessary reports as required by the Director of Nursing.
  • Report problem areas to the Director of Nursing and assist in developing and implementing corrective action.
  • Provide direct nursing care as necessary.
