About The Position

Sentara Leigh Orthopedic Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for our busy Surgical Orthopedic Unit, 1 East! This is a 36 hours per week position. The role demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, the Unit Coordinator leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. The goal is to increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent (Gold Standard) customer service. The 24-bed Surgical Unit primarily serves orthopedic patients but will also accommodate other general medical patients, with 70% orthopedic surgical patients and 30% medical patients.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Nursing - BSN Required
Registered nursing License (Required)
18 months of relevant nursing experience

BLS required within 90 days of hire
